Community, Pluralism, and Difference in Halakhic Practice
We want our communities to be as open and inclusive as possible, but communities require shared understanding and standards. Through a range of halakhic case studies, we’ll build a conceptual vocabulary for the complex work of community in face of deep difference. Who can, and should, we daven with – and how? Who can and should we dine with, and how? Who can and should we learn with, share a home or neighborhood with? What will emerge from our studies is a clear-eyed vision of the challenges and opportunities of togetherness.
