The Quest for the Text: Searching for the Bible’s Original Words Throughout the Ages
Determining the original text of the Holy Scriptures, and especially that of the Pentateuch, was an essential part of Biblical Studies from the very start. Needless to say, this effort was not restricted to Jews, but was also widespread among Christian and Muslim scholars throughout the ages. In this series of lectures, we will learn about the various versions of the Bible. In addition, we will trace the religious battles that surrounded the Biblical Text, and assess their roles in advancing critical approaches to the Biblical Text.
