In chapter 28 of Genesis Jacob expresses his hope to build an inclusive family in which each member is part of a covenantal community. The various tensions within his family threaten to prevent that aspiration. These sessions will focus on chapters 36-38 which include the sale of Joseph and which we will subject to a close reading to reflect upon what will be necessary to repair and unite this family.
